Rimu Lodge boutique accommodation is owned by Sue-Ellen Bowden. Her luxury lodge is the only 5-star bed and breakfast in the West Coast region.


I am Sue-Ellen Bowden, owner of Rimu Lodge luxury accommodation in Hokitika.

I had a dream of finding the perfect place to host guests from all over the world in the South Island.

So I sold up in Auckland and travelled for 4 months in a motorhome with my two dogs. We travelled the South Island scouring the towns for the most tranquil location with heavenly views.

The moment I saw Rimu Lodge I knew I had found my piece of paradise. An unspoiled environment with magnificent views.

Rimu lodge is the only Qualmark 5 star bed & breakfast on the West Coast. I look forward to sharing this very special place with you.

Breakfast at Rimu Lodge

Enjoy your gourmet breakfast looking out over the breathtaking views of the West Coast's Hokitika River and alpine peaks of the Southern Alps beyond.

A delicious cooked breakfast is our specialty and can be enjoyed either in the dining room or on the deck in the morning sun.

At the end of the day enjoy a your evening meal at one of Hokitika's excellent cafes and restaurants. We also have a selection of New Zealand wines available for purchase.

Free wi-fi is available in all rooms so you can check your emails.

Check in/check out

Check in from 3:00pm, check out 10:00am (or at another time by prior arrangement).

In consideration of guests who stay at Rimu Lodge for the peace and quiet the lodge offers, we regret we are unable to accept bookings for children under the age of 13 years.

Our reception hours are 7:00am to 8:00pm. Could you please advise an arrival time so there is someone here to greet you.

Please note we do not have 24 hour reception.

Deposit

Reservations are made in advance with confirmation secured by Visa or Mastercard or direct credit. We may or may not require a deposit to confirm your reservation.

Payment of the balance is required at checkout with any other sundries.

We recommend travel insurance.
